On behalf of our client, a leading firm in the employment and workplace investigations space, we are seeking a talented Employment Lawyer to join their highly regarded team. This is a unique opportunity to step into a specialist role with a strong focus on conducting workplace investigations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in employment law and a genuine interest—or existing experience—in workplace investigations. You’ll work on complex, sensitive matters across a range of industries, including public and private sector clients, with a team that is collaborative, supportive, and regarded as a market leader in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Conduct complex and high-stakes workplace investigations, including interviews, evidence gathering, and reporting.
-
Prepare clear, concise, and legally sound investigation reports and legal advice.
-
Provide strategic employment law advice to clients on a range of workplace matters.
-
Lead significant matters with minimal supervision, including proactive scoping and cost management.
-
Manage client expectations and foster strong relationships through excellent service delivery.
What We’re Looking For:
The firm is open to a wide range of seniority levels, provided you hold a current practising certificate and have relevant experience in employment law. Whether you're looking to deepen your expertise in investigations or already have substantial exposure, we’d love to hear from you.
While Sydney is the preferred location, the firm welcomes applications from across Australia and is happy to support remote work or working from another national office.
Key Attributes:
-
Current Australian practising certificate.
-
Solid experience in employment law (minimum PQE is flexible).
-
Strong interest in or prior exposure to workplace investigations.
-
Excellent written communication, including report writing and client advice.
-
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume, fast-paced workloads.
-
Exceptional client management and communication skills, including handling complex conversations with professionalism.
-
Comfortable working autonomously on matters and in managing sensitive and confidential issues.
-
Confidence in conducting interviews, with an awareness of cultural sensitivities where relevant.
-
Technologically proficient and adaptable to new systems and tools.
Why This Role?
-
Work with a team of market leaders in employment and investigations.
-
Supportive and flexible work environment – including remote work options.
-
Interesting and meaningful work that has real impact on organisations and their people.
-
A firm that values diversity, inclusion, and professional development.
