The Opportunity

We're excited to be recruiting for a distinctive role, perfect for a junior or intermediate Legal Secretary who enjoys the coordination elements of administration.

Situated within a prestigious Australian law firm, this position consists of providing support to the regional team of Lawyers and Partner Head of Pro Bono law as well as continued involvement in the firm's Community outreach programs.

You, the successful applicant, will be exposed to a variety of responsibilities including:

 

  • Telephone, diary, travel and document management;
  • Client and stakeholder liaison, via correspondence and face to face;
  • Legal support including monthly billing, reporting and preparation of documents;
  • Coordination of requests for Community outreach and answering ad hoc questions with relation to the Pro Bono programs;
  • Regular management of spreadsheets, reports, records, filing, and mail.

This is the type of role that is rarely seen on the market.  It's the ideal role for someone who loves being a legal secretary, but is ready for a new challenge, an opportunity to broaden their skill set, and a chance to make a difference.

The Requirements

Listed below are the minimum expectations for technical skills, experience and qualifications which individuals need to meet in order to perform their role:

 

 

  • At least 2 years’ experience as an administration assistant or secretary in a legal, corporate or professional services firm;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to being a team player as well as work to your own initiative;
  • Strong organisation and administration skills with a working proficiency on Microsoft Office Suite and exposure to a client management system;
  • A passion for community outreach.
