This is a unique opportunity to join a progressive and highly collaborative, national mid-sized law firm, within the Operations team. Due to rapid growth within the Sydney office our client is seeking a proactive Compliance Officer with previous experience in risk and compliance management.
The successful applicant must have the business acumen to recognise trends through data analysis and provide guidance and resolutions to senior management through practice improvements.
The Compliance Officer will be reporting directly to the Operations Manager. Below includes the day to day responsibilities:
- Manage and conduct compliance audits, reviews and reporting.
- Establish positive and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify areas of improvement and actively work with management to initiate efficient work practices.
- Maintain accurate and timely record keeping.
- Become proficient in the legal software system (Practice Evolve) to input and extract relevant data and reports as required.
- Contribute to strategic projects by providing compliance input.

The role is ideally suited to someone with between 3 to 5 years of Compliance or Risk Management experience. This is not a legal role, but legal industry experience is advantageous. Having the right level of motivation and tenacity to make a difference, is what's needed.

- Relevant qualifications in Business/Finance/Commerce or equivalent.
- Must have exceptional Microsoft Office suite and Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to multitask accurately during periods of high demand.
- A positive and solution focused attitude.
- The ability to take the initiative, work autonomously as well as collaborate within a team.
